Senior Software Engineer Data Analyst

Main Tasks/Profile Abilities

Translate business requirements into software/ data requirements. 
Develop and participate in the review of requirements, data mappings, use cases and other artifacts and clearly communicate to both the business and technical team members the system requirements. 
Demonstrate the ability to access data, analyze data, and remediate data issues leveraging SQL and applicable AWS analytics tools such as Athena. 
Experience developing testing strategies and identifying comprehensive test scenarios based on business requirements. 
Support ad hoc data requests as required as part of DevOps team. 
Demonstrated experience with AWS Lambda, NodeJS, SNS/SQS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, DynamoDB, and Athena

Athena and RDS Databases - must be able to write queries using...SQL, Javascript, etc.

Have experience in Agile software development. 
Willingness and ability to perform in multiple roles on a team, including testing and production support as well as data analysis
Strong ability to understand and internalize the big picture and broader implications. 
Self-starter with ability to set priorities, work independently and attain goals.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Communicate and understand business goals and requirements, and work to create data solutions that add value to the business. 
Support Architects, Leads and product owners to ensure that all aspects of the information analysis and requirements gathering process are completed with the highest degree of accuracy and quality, including the development and socialization of key project artifacts. 
Develop and participate in the review of requirements, data mappings, use cases and other artifacts and clearly communicate to both the business and technical team members the system requirements. 
Demonstrate the ability to access data, analyze data, and remediate data issues leveraging SQL and applicable AWS analytics tools such as Athena. 
Support team with functional, regression and end to end testing efforts with a focus on flow of data ensuring that features deliver the expected functionality with high quality. 
Create and maintain functional and system tests to replicate complex real-world scenarios. 
Support ad hoc data requests as required as part of DevOps team.

Education/Experience

S. Degree in information systems, engineering, operations, or related technical field. 
Minimum 5-7 years' experience in software development, data management and applying knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to a broad range of life-cycle activities in order to meet the requirements for data projects and process improvement initiatives to include agile development process; cloud and microservices analysis, architecture and design; functional and regression testing; and transactional data back-office operations. 
Experience working with IT development teams, and infrastructure support organizations. 
Demonstrated ability to perform both routine daily tasks and highly skilled analysis and complex project work. 
Demonstrated experience with AWS Lambda, Node JS, SNS/SQS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, DynamoDB, and Athena.

Related Skills & Other Requirements

Excellent understanding of data management concepts and best practices, as well as an ability to become a SME in Client data. 
Strong ability to explain advanced data concepts to both developers and architects, non-technical end users, and executives. 
Experience with AWS RDS Databases, Athena and expertise in understanding and writing SQL
Ability to work closely with highly technical IT database, development, and infrastructure staff, including high degree of comfort with IT artifacts and terminology (e.g. E-R diagrams, data dictionaries, interface specifications, use cases) 
Strong computer literacy, with focus on databases and other data structures, but also including Microsoft Office applications including Exce
Ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications. 
Highly collaborative individual with ability to build strong professional relationships 
Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability 
Ability to effectively communicate issues in writing and orally at appropriate levels of detail for executive audiences, business stakeholders and technical teams
