Summary: Service Technicians contribute to our mission of saving and sustaining lives by working as a part of a team on the service line to perform either the repair and/or electrical mechanical testing on medical device equipment. Ensuring the highest quality, individuals follow documented standard work instructions and document findings into the system of record. Individuals may also assist other areas of the value stream such as shipment preparation, repair, or testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOPs, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements.
Maintains a mindset that all accidents can be prevented and works pro-actively to achieve zero harm in the workplace.
Follows defined Quality Management Systems, all applicable procedures, reviews maintenance records, and completes all documentation as required.
Maintains a continuous flow of the servicing line and works independently and as a part of a team to achieve process yield results.
Uses good judgement from the established procedures and device readings to continue through the service or testing process and escalates as needed.
Rotates into other areas such as assembly, repair, packaging, spare parts and test operations as needed.
May train employees on an as needed basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Depending On The Rotation Of Roles Additionally
Uses of a variety of hand and power tools, and aids (ex. tube cutter, crimp machine, pallet jack, etc.) to assemble and disassemble medical devices.
Uses machinery, equipment, and test aids to conduct a variety of tests, measure devices, and calculate data to verify adherence to ensure the unit functions within provided specifications.
Performs scheduled calibration of test stations and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
May assemble boxes and packaging material.
May package medical devices and transports pallet of finished goods for outgoing shipment.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow work instructions is required.
Proficient computer skills required to enter data, navigate, and routinely toggle between various application systems.
Ability to perform basic math is required.
A basic level of proficiency with various hardware and assembly tools (ex: screwdriver, pliers) is preferred, but not required.
Basic knowledge of various testing tools such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot tester, pressure gauges is helpful.
Must be able to wear applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas as required including safety glasses at all times.
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent walking, stooping, reaching, grasping and using fine & gross motor manipulation.
Depending on rotation of roles, must be able to lift up to 35lbs and if working in shipment preparation up to 42lbs and use material handling equipment (ex. pallet jack or walkie stacker).
High School diploma or GED required
Previous electrical mechanical assembly, repair OR testing experience is preferred, but not required
