What The Day Will Look Like

This role will provide the candidate an opportunity to work as part of a global Solutions Architecture group spanning multiple Agile Product Delivery teams. This specific role will align to Document Management, being responsible for the architecture of this critical component of our ecosystem. Document Management includes the delivery management of document templates, the generation of documents, storage and indexing, search and retrieval, all delivered through seamless UI and API interfaces integrated with a third party document storage solution. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

 

• Early assessment of new requirements, defining the impact across products within our ecosystem, documenting solution designs, estimating and planning the future state of our system landscape.
• Contributing to Agile Planning meetings to groom requirements and defining features down to user story level to successfully modernize, enhance and scale the solutions in place.
• Attending Agile Scrums meetings to groom requirements, unblock engineering roles as they deliver on features within their respective product team sprints.
• Quality oversight of delivery by developers in line with engineering standards, ensuring teams are equipped with the tools, access and training to perform successfully within their product team.
• Building up the architecture practice engineering know-how within an Aon context - adopting and extending SDLC and DevSecOps standards across Aon.
• Engaging product owners, scrum masters and project managers to ensure successful and smooth delivery day-to-day.
• Serve as a point of technical escalation for dev teams and address technical issues as they arise.
• Taking personal responsibility for architecture quality across Agile product teams, demonstrated by robust solutions.

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

 

• 5+ years experience in application development, with at least 2 years within a pure architecture role.
• Strong understanding of architecture development methodologies and how to derive and communicate solutions from requirements.
• Experience in Visual Paradigm or similar architecture modelling tools.
• Experience in design APIs and specifying API contracts (swagger V3 Open API) aligning to data standards.
• Azure cloud experience - IaaS and PaaS including containerization, serverless, unstructured data processing etc.
• Prior development experience in Javascript web frameworks (React, Angular, similar), C# .NET, Database Design & scripting.
• Knowledge of IBM FileNet and Oracle BI or similar document storage and template definition solutions is desirable.
• Good Agile knowledge - SCRUM, Kanban and other practices, with experience in embedding architecture into Agile planning.
• Successful influencer across different teams and cultures
• College degree in IT-related field
