Striper Truck Operator - Pavement Marking Technician
Must have:
- Ability to effectively operate and maintain thermoplastic striping equipment, Striper Trucks, and other relevant machinery for pavement marking applications. This includes skill in applying road markings and safely removing pavement markings.
- Proficiency in performing mechanical repairs on equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, and addressing issues related to grinders, paint machines, and other tools used in the field. Strong knowledge of diesel mechanics is valuable.
- Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a good driving record.
- Knowledge of safety procedures for securing and transporting cargo, coupled with the physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, including pavement marking supplies and signs.
- Prepare, clean, and maintain work areas.
- Operate and maintain thermoplastic striping equipment for road striping applications.
- Drive and operate a Striper Truck during paint striping/thermoplastic striping processes.
- Install and remove heat tape, temporary, and permanent reflective tape.
- Operate equipment for removing pavement markings.
- Perform mechanical repairs on equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Transport materials and equipment to job sites using company trucks.
- Clean and maintain grinders and paint machines.
- Install, remove, and reset delineators, signs, posts, and supports.
- Conduct shop work, including equipment maintenance and repair.
- Perform overnight travel between work sites as required.
Position Requirements:
- Experience: 1 -5 years of pavement marking experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a good driving record.
- Mechanical Skills: Aptitude and experience in preventative maintenance equipment, vehicle, and diesel mechanics.
- Basic Skills: Reading/writing ability to comply with road signs, complete paperwork, and knowledge of federal motor carrier safety regulations.
- Knowledge: Good knowledge of state and local roadways, experience with operating delivery vehicles.
- Physical Ability: Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds, knowledge of safety procedures for securing and transporting cargo.
- Environment: Work primarily performed in an outdoor environment.
- Requirements: Must pass background check and drug screening per DOT regulations.
