Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Provide design for structural components necessary for the development of a project.
Perform structural wood and steel calculations for commercial and residential projects.
Perform reinforced concrete calculations for building slabs, spread footings, retaining walls etc.
Structural engineer shall have ability of understanding, interpreting and correctly applying national codes and standards such as IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC.
Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and IMS and standards.
Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
Resolve project issues and problems.
Provide technical guidance to co-workers.
Contribute to a team environment by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
Works autonomously without direct supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Strong working knowledge of design codes such as IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC.
Should be proficient in using analytical software and have experience using AutoCAD, RISA & Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication skills and interface skills with clients and project team members.
Ability to multi-task, and a willingness to quickly change work assignments.
Education & Experience
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
7 plus years of experience residential and commercial engineering.
Certificates & Licenses
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
State of Texas Structural Engineer License (PE)
Must Have
