What to Expect
As a Structural Engineer on the Energy Infrastructure team, you will be playing a critical role in New and Tenant Improvement projects at Client facilities across the greater bay area. You will assist in design and construction activities of multiple critical capex projects while working with internal and external stakeholders, interfacing with end users, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analyses, design and detailing of new and existing structures.
- Assist in development of drawings, building information models (BIM), calculations, proposals, and reports.
- Assist in preparation of preliminary concepts and designs for quotes.
- Perform construction administration tasks including review and coordination of RFIs, RFPs, submittal logs, bids, shop drawings, etc. Interact with contractors, fabricators, stakeholders, and consultant teams.
- Provide field support including recording existing field conditions, taking and verifying measurements within project area.
- Documentation and assessment of existing conditions of a structure using existing documentation as well as field investigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in structural engineering with 7+ years of experience or master’s degree with Structural Engineering concentration 5+ years of experience in design and analysis of steel, concrete, and wood structures. Strong computer skills including .
- Proficiency in building design codes such as ASCE, CBC, IBC, AISC, ACI, NDS.
- Proficiency in industrial structural designs.
- Proficiency in varieties of structural support system and detailing.
- Strong interpersonal, written communications, and presentation skills. Excel, Mathcad, MATLABWillingness to work overtime to meet deadlines.
- Able to multi-task and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines. Preferred Qualifications/Experience using structural analysis/design software (SAFE, SAP2000, RISA 3D, RAM Structural System), BIM/CAD modeling tools () is preferred.
- Experience in retrofit and rehabilitation work of existing structures in seismic zones.
- Experience in design of support structures for static and dynamic loads imposed by manufacturing equipment is preferred. Experience in construction administration is preferred.
- Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) in CaliRevit, Navisworks, AutoCADfornia is a hard requirement.
