System Administrator

Job Description 

it is an exciting opportunity for an immediate opening as a Systems Administrator located in Huntsville, AL

Clearance Required Active DoD Top Secret clearance with eligibility for DIA-SCI access. Candidate selected must be able to successfully pass DIA CI polygraph within 60 days of hire date

Responsibilities Responsible for performing analysis on systems problems 

Responsible for working with system users to define problem areas, data availability, report requirements, etc. 

Responsible for defining system objectives and for preparing system design specifications to meet user requirements 

Responsible for analyzing various ways to derive input data in order to select the most appropriate process 

Responsible for implementing system design specifications 

May define input and output file specifications including the organization 

May be responsible for defining controls, conversion procedures and system implementation plans 

May occasionally provide work guidance to lower-level personnel

Minimum Education 

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field

Required Experience

5+ years managing Linux Operating System 

Prior experience with Windows Server/Workstation 

5 years’ experience with Shell scripting and/or programming 

Experience designing dashboards for managing a SIEM (Splunk, Elastic, Exabeam, ManageEngine, Solarwinds) environments 

Experience with virtualization environments 

Able to lift 50 pounds with or without accommodation 

Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs 

Must obtain a Security+CE certification within 90 days of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, 

Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field 

Work related experience with VMware, RHV, KVM 

Knowledge/experience with Infiniband and Ethernet 

Working knowledge of current high level computer languages (C, C++, Perl, Python) 

HPS experience with Batch job schedulers and workload managers 

Current Certification in Security+, Slurm, Networking, Storage 

Active DoD TS clearance with DIA CI Polygraph
