Position Overview:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer for Mac, JAMF Pro, and Carousel (Digital Signage Apple TVs) in the company. This person will help establish the processes and best practices for managing the Mac fleet nationally via JAMF Pro. This will include management of the OS, patches, upgrades, third party applications, and identity management. The Mac/JAMF Pro/Carousel System Engineer will ensure best in class performance & availability for business capabilities and growth. The scope will include design, implementation, and operationalization of the Mac ecosystem and future state. Additional duties will include solving operational issues for all JAMF Pro managed devices and macOS related services to support all clients and service levels using best practices. This will require working across teams nationally to solve daily operational incidents and to coordinate Endpoint management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implementation, maintenance, administration, and configuration of the enterprise JAMF Pro and Carousel environment
• Developing and maintaining Mac deployment automation architecture, design/migration, and troubleshooting
• Packaging of macOS applications to be distributed using JAMF Pro
• Strong knowledge of integrating Cloud identity providers with MacOS and iOS systems.
• End-user facing expertise in providing support for Apple hardware and software issues within end-user computer systems
• Contribute to development and ongoing improvement of industry best practices and standards for deploying enterprise Mac technologies
• Evaluate emerging technologies to ensure technical solutions are compatible with the company's business needs and strategic objectives
• Provide technical expertise, guidance and strategic recommendations to other IT groups
• Provide digital display updates to all Carousel Apple TV’s, these are updated regularly with new advertising and commercial display content.
• Develop Knowledge Base articles related to macOS, JAMF Pro, and Carousel
• Engage and ensure any security changes or initiatives that might have JAMF related impacts are evaluated and reviewed with the IT operations and support organization
• Engage in any changes with vendors to streamline JAMF related processes
• Lead the analysis of issues/problems and development of technical solutions as it relates to MacBook’s and JAMF
• Provide subject matter technical expertise across all IT support functions and build solutions that drive resolution to elimination of issues or to lower level support organizations
Qualifications
• 3-5 years of prior experience supporting and managing Mac’s in an enterprise environment using JAMF Pro or other MDM.
• JAMF 200 Certification (or 3 years experience)and ability to gain JAMF 300 Certification withing one year
• Familiarity with all recent releases of macOS (features, patching, upgrades etc.)
• In depth knowledge and expertise using and managing JAMF Pro server policies and config profiles.
• Familiarity with various tools to assist in the deconstruction and rebuilding of installer packages
• An in-depth understanding of the macOS provisioning process using Automated Enrollment/DEP
• Experience in working with third-party engineering level support (Apple, JAMF, various security vendors)
• The ability to clearly communicate to both team members and the end user community.
