Job Description - This position will be reporting into the Authentication Services Product Business Unit and will be responsible for driving VeriSign's authentication services into the public sector (federal and state governments). The primary focus will be leading the VeriSign effort to sell our Managed PKI and Card Management Services to federal and state agencies in accordance with the HSPD-12 initiative. This individual will work closely with VeriSign customers and account organization as well as the broader authentication and product and engineering teams based in Mountain View, CA. This will require frequent travel to Mountain View. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Create VeriSign Messaging Related to HSPD-12 Solution Offering ' Define positioning with unique benefits and value propositions ' Specify and prioritize set of messages for all market communication 2. Ensure effective marketing communication deliverables ' Lead creative efforts for outbound marketing materials ' Assess effectiveness of materials and alignment with the messaging 3. Develop and execute outbound marketing programs ' Recommend specific budget allocation for outbound marketing activities ' Develop and prioritize marketing programs and mix ' Define measurement and analyze effectiveness of marketing programs 4. Personally evangelize products and company ' Promote VeriSign HSPD-12 and other security offerings in various venues including customer meeting and industry seminars ' Energize, train, and assist Sales in customer acquisition / expansion ' Drive business development with key strategic partners ' Perform press and analyst relations and interface with key customers 5. Manage the business to achieve growth and profitability goals ' Determine, monitor and analyze key business performance metrics ' Make recommendations to maximize revenues and minimize expenses ' Determine product investment strategy (enhancements, new product introduction, geographic expansion, distribution and EOL) 6. Maximize customer satisfaction, retention and wallet share ' Measure and analyze customer, partner satisfaction levels ' Develop key customer relationships and demonstrate thought leadership 7. Monitor and respond to external factors ' Generate intelligence through competitive analysis ' Track industry trends and revise strategy and tactics ' Understand ecosystem (key players and their interdependencies) and develop strategic technology and distribution partnerships Skills and Attributes Required: ? Balance strategy and attention to details Qualified candidates should also have at least 7+ years of product management and product marketing experience in security solutions for the public sector. Job Requirements (education, experience, certifications, etc.): ' BA or BS in a related technical discipline or equivalent work experience ' MBA or relevant experience in product management.
