Responsibilities
As a Cloud Technical Services Engineer, you’ll be advising customers on strategies and documented practices for making best use of our cloud products. This will require you to translate technical concepts and patterns into generalist’s terms for our customers, helping them understand, install, and use those applications well. You’ll also troubleshoot technical problems with these products, and be an advocate for our users’ needs, collaborating with the MongoDB product management and development teams on their behalf.
MongoDB Technical Services puts a strong focus on engineers enabling their peers to be successful by sharing newly gained technical knowledge with the team, either via informal one-to-one conversations, or training and workshop sessions. By documenting solutions in our knowledge base system, Cloud TSEs will increase the efficiency of our customers, other team members and departments throughout MongoDB.
You must be willing and able to work weekends. This is a full-time position working Tuesday to Saturday, based in-office at our Melbourne or Sydney location.
What we’re looking for
We consider all candidates with an eye for those who are self taught, curious, and multi-faceted. You’ll need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be knowledgeable about a wide range of internet technologies. You should also have:
Solid fundamentals in Linux, and networking
Knowledge of Amazon Web Services, or other major cloud providers
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems across a variety of environments
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others
Bonus points
Fluency in a foreign language, especially Spanish, Japanese, or Mandarin
Industry certifications such as RedHat Certified Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or other related subjects
Fundamental understanding of MongoDB, or other databases (for example, ElasticSearch, MySQL, Postgres)
Previous application support experience
Any Graduate
