Job Overview:

The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) is currently recruiting a Workforce Development Coordinator to support the implementation of TDH's Data Modernization efforts as a part of the Office of Informatics and Analytics (OIA). This position will directly support OIA's Data Modernization work with regards to supporting workforce development, associated coordination and resource management. This position will work closely with the Data Modernization Director and leadership team, as well as other members of OIA and various TDH divisions and programs, including with Information Technology and other department workforce development coordinators.

 

This is a contractor position and reports directly to the Partner Engagement Coordinator within the Office of Informatics and Analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

· Coordinate implementation of a Data Modernization workforce development program, including:

o Facilitate the Data Modernization workforce development committee and monthly team meetings,

o Coordinate organization-wide Data Modernization workforce assessments as directed to further identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed,

o Maintain and update the Data Modernization workforce develop plan, and

o Support identification of training opportunities, identification of training offerings, scheduling and implementation of training events, associated communications and marketing, and training evaluation.

  • Lead the procurement, design, implementation, and maintenance of the TDH Data Training program.
  • Organize, plan, and execute workforce development events as necessary for various assigned projects.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain workforce development partnerships and network with other program

coordinators.

  • Aid in the coordination and management of other Data Modernization related projects.
  • Support Data Modernization related procurement.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and a master’s degree, and five or more years of relevant experience in workforce development.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines, organize, problem solve and exercise good judgment with minimal supervision, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to demonstrate flexibility and creativity, and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power Point, and SharePoint are required.

Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in a business or health-related field may be substituted, on a year-for-year basis, for one year of the required non-supervisory experience.
