Zabbix Architect

100% Remote (EST hours)

$110 C2C/hr on C2C Al

3 Month Contract/ 20 hours per week

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing Zabbix monitoring solutions in complex environments. Work closely with client to understand their specific needs and provide expert guidance on best practices for setting up and configuring Zabbix, integrating it with ServiceNow, and ensuring high availability and redundancy.

Candidates must have extremely strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the client’s current environment and identify monitoring requirements.
• Design and implement a scalable and robust Zabbix monitoring solution.
• Develop and apply Zabbix templates for monitoring various metrics including CPU, memory, disk space, system services
• Integrate Zabbix with ServiceNow for seamless ticket creation and incident management.
• Define and implement criteria for alarms to convert to tickets, ensuring minimal noise and false alarms.
• Establish and configure maintenance periods and alerting logic for distinguishing between production and development environments.
• Configure high availability and redundancy for Zabbix to ensure continuous monitoring.
• Provide guidance on backup strategies for Zabbix configurations and data.
• Create detailed documentation and provide training to the client’s team on managing and maintaining the Zabbix environment.
• Assist with any troubleshooting and optimization of the Zabbix setup.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Zabbix Architect or similar role, with a strong understanding of Zabbix components and architecture.
• Extensive experience with Zabbix installation, configuration, and administration.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring and alerting best practices.
• Experience with integrating Zabbix with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
• Proficiency in creating and managing Zabbix templates and triggers.
• Knowledge of VMware and vCenter monitoring.
• Familiarity with Windows and RedHat operating systems.
• Experience with configuring high availability and redundancy for monitoring systems.
• Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and custom integrations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Zabbix Specialist.
• Experience with other monitoring tools and frameworks.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.
