Application Security Engineer

Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Cyber Security with preference for Post graduate degree in the same fields
Certifications:
CISSP (required)
CISLP (preferred)
CISM (preferred)
CISA (preferred)
PMP (preferred)
CIPP (preferred)
TOGAF (preferred)
CEH (preferred)
Ability to work with little or no direct supervision
Experience with Veracode or Tenable, and Azure highly desirable
Cyber incident response experience is desirable
Azure data-lakes, Windows SQL and/or PostgreSQL experience is good to have
Prior experience as an Information security architect is a huge asset
UNIX, BSD or Linux experience: Preferred
Worked experience: Required
Working in a Level 1 PCI DSS and SOC 2 compliant environment is highly desired
Experience managing activities in a SOX or Bill 198 compliant environment is preferred
Security architecture and security strategy development is highly desired
Staff development, coaching and mentoring highly desired
Can advise business on information security and privacy matters
Knowledge of Canadian privacy laws required; prefer also UK (GDPR) and USA (California)
Excellent computer skills including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to take initiative and work proactively under minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and successfully complete tasks while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Solid multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage and balance large volumes of work
Strong analytical skills with the ability to exercise judgment when dealing with problems or issues that may arise
Team-player with strong interpersonal skills and a professional attitude capable of fostering strong working relationships with all levels of staff within the organization as well as external contacts
Ability to work with sensitive and confidential material
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to plan, research topics and be creative
