Staff or Architect Back End Engineer 

 

We are seeking an energetic and talented Expert Level Backend Engineer.   This individual will have very strong Java and design skills. She/he will be part of a fast-paced team whose mission is to enhance and optimize the purchase experience.

 

Key Job Functions

  • Lead, coach and mentor team of 5-8 full stack and backend engineers
  • Actively participate and lead the technical requirements analysis, design review, contract closure with cross-functional teams across the globe. 
  • Write high quality code
  • Champion coding standards and re-usable components
  • Influence the technical direction of the engineering team
  • Partner with Product Managers in designing and defining new features
  • Serve as a key member of a Scrum team 
  • Participate in and identify architectural improvements, code review, best practices, delivering testable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions. 
  • Participate and potentially lead Communities-of-Practice programs. 

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years of large-scale distributed ecommerce systems experience
  • Expert understanding of Java, database, and messaging technologies
  • Enthusiasm for constant improvement as a Software Engineer
  • Ability to communicate clearly effectively and motivate team members 
  • Reactive Java a plus
  • Passionate about Ecommerce and retail a plus
