Job Responsibilities

 Provide enterprise-wide data architecture direction and guidance to business and technology partners that starts and ends with a focus on delivering actionable recommendations for customer data to peers and leadership, so they can adjust products, projects, policies and solutions to achieve targeted business outcomes
•    Work with Information and Data Management leadership and other senior management to define and fine-tune an enterprise-wide customer data strategy, identify best practices, negotiate complex decisions using a design thinking approach, and seek opportunities to increase agility, efficiency and resiliency across the organization
•    Lead or support working groups with business stakeholders to understand key business priorities and outcomes; identify and document data requirements within the Customer Domain; translate requirements into data standards (as needed); and build/maintain the enterprise customer data model aligned with evolving business needs
•    Contribute to the development and refinement of fit-for-purpose foundational data technologies including master data management, reference data management, automation, data quality monitoring, data cataloging, data governance and others
•    Engage with agile development squads, product owners and design/systems development personnel at the application or enterprise level to build/review/approve designs and to creatively help solve “wicked” data challenges
•    Provide leadership and mentoring within the overall realm of enterprise-wide data competencies across multiple data domains to create a “value-driven” approach to business and technology outcomes
•    Prepare documentation and messaging necessary to communicate customer data strategies, options analysis, recommendations and plans to senior leaders and executive management both within the business and technology space
•    Create and motivate the development of internal presentation decks, whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value business facing guidance and best practices.

Job Qualifications

•    A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a data related field (e.g., Data Architecture, Data Management, Computer Science or Information Systems)
•    Foundational knowledge and proven experience (5 or more years) in the Customer domain with involvement in data architecture, design, data analytics, warehousing, data lake and/or systems development
•    Work experience in a B2B setting, such as contributing to the development of the customer journey roadmap, within the Life Sciences (Biopharma, CRO) or related fields is a plus
•    Problem-solving skills paired with 3 or more years of experience in data standards development, design and conceptual data modeling to support an enterprise-wide customer data strategy
•    Experience building digital capabilities to improve customer collaboration and engagement is a plus
•    Experience with enterprise CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is desired
•    Ability to effectively work with data, business and technology teams in a dynamic and agile environment
