Location: SFO, CA

100% Remote till Covid

Rate: Look for local candidates at $70-75/Hr

Zone A - California, New York, District of Columbia, Upstate Washington – Rates will be $70-75/Hr Max

Zone B – Rest of Other States – Rates will be 60-65/Hr Max

Required Years of Experience - 5+ years

As our Atlassian Engineer, you will work on the End User Services team, focusing on the day-to-day tasks of managing and maintaining Datacenter environments and will be hands-on with configuration and monitoring application servers. Candidate should also be comfortable working in an agile environment.

Ideal candidate is an experienced Jira Engineer with DevOps experience

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Configure, maintain and administer an instance of JIRA and Confluence with at least 1500 users

• Install, configure, maintain, and enhance the Atlassian systems that we use to manage work

• Understand system architecture of upstream and downstream impacts when implementing solutions

• Installed and/or upgrade Jira instances and Confluence instances

• Identify opportunities to improve the workflow of daily tasks and lead efforts to drive improvements in team efficiency

• Create scripts which assist in the automation of Jira functionality

• Deploy, upgrade and patch all Atlassian systems

• Test new versions of the tools and plug-ins to ensure compatibility

• Ensure the reliability and security of the Atlassian suite, including third-party products, and associated components

• Develop and configure tools for more productive Front-end Operations: Build tools, deployment, speed (app, tests, builds, deploys), monitoring errors/logs, and stability

• Drive continuous improvements in deployment, management, and monitoring of the application's web services.

• Contribute to improvements in processes that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the DevOps and product development teams in responding to customer and business needs

• Solve live performance and stability issues and prevent their recurrence.

• Administer in Linux systems and various tools including JIRA or other similar systems

• Develop automated deployment and monitoring tools in Ansible, Python, bash or similar scripting languages

• Creatively identify and isolate issues between infrastructure and application

• Deploys new modules, upgrades and fixes to the production environment.

• Work with various teams including: developers, QA, triage, technical support, project managers, database administrators and technical writers

• Documents and completes knowledge transfer to production support.

• Works with Release Management to ensure modules are production ready.

Required Skills

• 6+ years' software engineering / DevOps experience.

• Strong knowledge of scripting and automation tools and strategies, e.g. Powershell

• Experienced overseeing web application installations, upgrades, and deployment as well as any servers/systems that support hosted web applications

• Experience installing/upgrading applications; deploying applications/solutions.

• UNIX/Linux based system administration experience

• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams

• Hands-on working experience with implementing configuration, build, deployment and release management best practices

• Creating documentation for application configuration and procedures

• Experience with GitHub

• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell

• Experience of JIRA log analysis and troubleshooting, C/C++, VB, SQL/JQL/MDX/REST API/JS/HTML/VTL/groovy scripts, network/WAN/LAN, Windows/Linux, etc

• ServiceNow experience a plus
