Title: Azure SQL DBA

Location: Remote

 

• The Azure database administrator implements and manages the operational aspects of cloud-native and hybrid data platform solutions built with Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Azure Data Services.
• The Azure database administrator uses a variety of methods and tools to perform day-to-day operations, including applying knowledge of using T-SQL for administrative management purposes.
• Experience with creating and managing different SQL instances types in Azure Experience with Azure data factory, Azure Data Bricks, Azure Synapse.
• Azure SQL DBA experience with azure data warehouse knowledge
• Well versed with Azure SQL administrative tasks
• Performance tuning, query optimization, using performance monitor, SQL profiler and other related troubleshooting tools
• Indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching
• SQL database backup, restore and recoveries
• Configuration of SQL servers clustering, log shipping, mirroring, etc.
• Database designs tables, datatypes, stored procedures, functions, etc.
• Critical incident support and interactions with Microsoft
• Azure certification preferred.
• PowerShell scripting.
• SQL Tuning.
• SSIS knowledge.
• Install, configure and upgrade SQL Server software and related products
• Design, create, maintain and insure recoverability of SQL Server databases
• Allocate systems storage and develop plans for future storage requirements
• Establish effective database performance monitoring procedures
• Control and monitor user access to databases and maintain database security
