Job Description:

 

  • Make tradeoffs between speed of delivery and data quality measures
  • Define and steward the Enterprise Data Lifecycle Management including data quality, data conversion, and data security technologies
  • Create and maintain a multi-year vision to drive the maturity of enterprise data assets
  • Manage and drive large cross departmental efforts and delivery teams involving ETL, BI, Data Warehouse, Java, SOA developers
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support in the deployment of complex applications in distributed computing environments across the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate with BI analysts to understand business and reporting requirements to translate these needs into efficient data models (logical and physical), and lead the development of Integration, extraction, and transformation processes between operational systems and the DW
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data models and database designs to build data warehouses related to subject areas covering Retail Sales/Planning, Supply Chain, Customer Analytics, Finance, Merchandise Planning to share and disseminate data throughout the enterprise
  • Perform database administration, application performance tuning, workload management, DR (disaster recovery) strategy, application architecture
  • Pro-active monitoring & reporting on system performance KPI’s providing visibility into resource utilization of different workloads such as ETL & BI tool (MicroStrategy)

Database Development ­ Loading/Unloading ­ External tables, table distribution, skew detection/remediation, optimizing query plans
