Trimble is looking for a business intelligence (BI) developer to join our team who strives for excellence, and is ready to join a fast-paced, highly collaborative team at the cutting edge both technologically and in terms of pushing forward design, development, and release processes at the company. As a BI developer, you will work alongside other best-in-class technical leads and QA team members to help drive the success of critical projects. This is a vital position, responsible for translating business needs into BI solutions enabling our customers to have meaningful insights into their data to make informed business decisions.

Translate business needs into technical specifications and build BI solutions.
Design and deploy BI solutions using tools such as Crystal Reports, SSRS and Power BI.
Conduct data analysis and present information through reports and visualizations
Follow team processes, keep task status updated so that accurate information is always being conveyed through the team’s defined means, and ensure that task completion is timely or reasons for delay are promptly conveyed and understood.
Apply security best practices.
Create highly tuned databases for storing data from high volume transactional databases
Be a constant learner, maintaining awareness of new and emerging technologies and their application for our team’s and company’s products.
Adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment, manage competing demands, and be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and good judgment in all interactions with co-workers, customers, and others.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

3+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer with a focus on Crystal Reports migration.
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
Experienced in Power BI development, including data modeling, report creation, and dashboard design.
Background in data warehouse design (dimensional modeling) and data mining
Knowledge of database management systems, OLAP and ETL
Experience creating database tables, triggers, sql queries, stored procedures
Grasp of Git source control management
Familiarity with IAM, authentication, authorization and identity concepts
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps (VSTS), and the Azure Cloud portal.
Familiarity with Visual Studio and/or VS Code.
Familiarity with messaging/eventing such as with Kafka and Azure Service Bus.
Knowledge of construction industry accounting and project management principles and practices.

Preferred Skills

Microsoft Power BI certification.
Experience with other data visualization tools and technologies.
Knowledge of ETL processes and tools.
