Block Migration Advanced Storage Administrator
Responsible for managing the day-to-day administration for SAN and storage environments, including:
Collaborate with Customer’s storage support teams
Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the assigned task(s), functional area(s) or project(s)
Support the design, operation, workflow and issue resolution for the storage infrastructure
Help maintain systems level maintenance for storage infrastructure
Responsible for tracking existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth
Maintain storage documentation, procedures and reporting
Provide Storage Area Network Configuration and Administration
Storage Allocations to server infrastructure
Manage infrastructure events
Capacity Management
Monitor storage subsystem and SAN switch capacity
Perform capacity analysis; analyze performance data and trends
Responsible for tracking existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth
Problem resolution
Problem diagnosis, resolution, and documentation
Perform Incident resolution
Investigate and diagnose raised problem(s) or problem records for root cause analysis
Perform necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with best practices and Company change management policies
Perform host-level tasks as requested to access new storage
Interface with assigned Hitachi Data Systems storage engineers to manage the implementation of all additional storage infrastructure and storage services
Mentor and train junior admins
Oversee the design, installation, configuration and de-provision of storage solutions
Performance Management for SAN and storage
Perform capacity tuning; provide remediation recommendation
IT Service continuity management, including monitoring of:
Responsible for providing Disaster Recovery solutions as it relates to SAN and NAS storage by developing and maintaining a library of procedures for disaster recovery documentation
Data movement and replication
Business Resumption Testing (DR) including data integrity tests
Execution of HTsM based migrations
Includes deployment and utilization of iSEC/SE Console/RIAT
Coordinating remediation activities with customer
Executing migrations via HCS utilizing HTsM
Working knowledge of operating systems like Windows, Linux and Unix (AIX, Solaris and HP/UX) and common multipath platforms
Strong knowledge of HDP/HDT from design/implementation standpoint
Planning and design for HTsM, TrueCopy, and/or HUR based migrations
Includes deployment and utilization of iSEC/SE Console/RIAT
Coordinating remediation activities with customer
Executing migrations via HCS or scripted methodologies
Workload analysis using TMEA concerning array performance during/after migrations
