BlueCat DNS Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled BlueCat DNS Specialist to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and configuring DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI) using BlueCat’s platforms. This role involves BlueCat DNS specialist to help with on-prem prod deployment and migration from Active Directory-integrated DNS
Key Responsibilities:
•       DNS Configuration and Management:
o       Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot DNS zones, records, and resolution policies using BlueCat’s Address Manager.
o       Implement DNS security policies, including DNSSEC and other protective measures.
o       Perform DNS zone transfers, updates, and changes as required by business needs.
•       DHCP and IP Address Management:
o       Manage and configure DHCP scopes and options across multiple environments.
o       Oversee IP address allocation and management, ensuring efficient usage and accurate records.
o       Implement IPAM strategies for efficient IP space management, including subnetting and supernetting.
•       System Integration and Automation:
o       Develop and maintain scripts for automating DNS, DHCP, and IPAM tasks using BlueCat’s APIs.
o       Integrate BlueCat solutions with other network management and monitoring tools.
•       Monitoring and Reporting:
o       Monitor the performance and health of DNS and DHCP services, addressing issues promptly.
o       Generate regular reports on DNS and IP address utilization, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
•       Security and Compliance:
o       Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.
o       Assist in auditing DNS and IPAM configurations to identify and mitigate potential risks.
•       Troubleshooting and Support:
o       Provide technical support and troubleshooting for DNS, DHCP, and IPAM-related issues.
o       Work closely with other network and security teams to resolve complex networking issues.
•       Documentation and Training:
o       Maintain comprehensive documentation of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM configurations and processes.
o       Train and support junior network administrators and other IT staff on BlueCat technologies.
