Budget Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Budget Analyst to join our team. The selected candidate will provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of Programming, Planning, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) support to DASD(SSIPM) and DASD(PWPM). This role involves providing technical support and guidance on funding execution, preparing budget reports, coordinating POM, BES, and PB builds, and advising on execution strategies to meet the needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:-

PPBE Support: Provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of PPBE support, including programming and budget formulation, preparation and execution of funding documents, conducting budget execution reviews, spend plan analysis, and providing strategic recommendations and guidance on financial matters.

Funds Tracking and Reporting: Prepare monthly reports on the status of funds tracking transactions through commitments, obligations, and expenditures. Provide analysis on actuals versus planned transactions. Conduct Mid-Year funds status reviews against OSD goals and provide justifications as directed by DASD(SSIPM) and DASD(PWPM). Reconcile all transactions timely.

POM, BES, and PB Builds Support: Provide support to POM, BES, and PB builds by coordinating and inputting R2 updates. Analyze changes in the FYDP and inform DASD’s Leadership of program impacts. Prepare annual POM briefing.

Execution Strategies: Provide subject matter expertise to advise and guide on execution strategies to best meet the needs of the DASDs requirements.

Contract Workforce Review Board Support: Prepare and track all Contract Workforce Review Board requirements. Counsel the DASD on any changes or issues requiring attention....

Required Skills:-

  • Expert understanding of the overall PPBE process (10+ years required with 20 years preferred)
  • Experience with updating DTIC R2 exhibits
  • Providing monthly funds status updates and strategic guidance (5 years required with 10 years preferred)
  • Understanding and experience with multiple financial management systems and process across the services and DoD
