Description

The business analyst is key to the success of the delivery team as they are responsible for working with the business and technology stakeholders to synthesize, prioritize and document requirements. The three key areas below are equally important to the success of the BA.  Their time is equally split between working with stakeholders and documenting the work.  In addition to supporting new work, the expectation is that they also support QA activities and understand solution and support troubleshooting and root cause analysis as needed.

  • Communication, including strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills to be able to facilitate and synthesize the needs of the business into solution requirements.
  • Ability to use critical thinking to problem solve and negotiate across stakeholders to bring the right solutions forward.
  • Ability to understand both the business (strong understanding of banking) and technology to support translating business requirements to non-functional requirements             
  1. Process
  • Ability to document requirements using process maps, acceptance criteria, wire frames an/or diagrams that are clear and concise
  • Ability to analyze information and present in formats to support stakeholder decision making and/or problem solving:    
    • Cost benefit Analysis
    • SWOT Analysis
  •  
    • Root Cause Analysis
  • Support quality assurance through well documents requirement and development of user stories and testing
  1. Technology
  • Microsoft Office (word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, SharePoint)
  • Azure DevOps – for supporting the development of solutions through definition of features, stories, tasks and bugs (including both active work and backlog feature) to communicate to the team building the solution.  Also contains the test cases and is used to manage work and report on deliverables and velocity
  • Confluence – for roadmaps and documentation
  • Lucid – for documenting diagrams and brainstorming sessions
