Job Description:

Looking for a business analyst in our IT organization to help identify our current and future business needs, solve problems, and improve processes as we stand up our own IT stack. Business analysts bridge the gap between stakeholders, such as business managers, clients, and IT teams, to ensure that projects and initiatives align with business goals and requirements.

Key responsibilities of a business analyst include:

1. Requirements Gathering: Business analysts collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements for various projects, whether they involve developing new software, improving processes, or implementing new strategies.

2. Analysis: They analyze the gathered requirements to identify potential gaps, conflicts, or opportunities for improvement. This involves understanding business processes, workflows, and data flows.

3. Problem Solving: Business analysts work to identify business problems and challenges, and then recommend potential solutions. They may also conduct cost-benefit analyses to help stakeholders make informed decisions.

4. Documentation: They create detailed documentation of business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories that serve as a guide for developers, designers, and other project team members.

5. Communication: Business analysts act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating technical jargon into understandable terms and ensuring that both sides understand each other’s needs and perspectives.

6. Testing and Validation: They assist in testing and validating the solutions or systems developed to ensure they meet the defined requirements and function as expected.

7. Change Management: Business analysts play a role in managing the change associated with implementing new systems or processes. They work to ensure smooth transitions and help users adapt to changes.

8. Data Analysis: Depending on the organization’s needs, business analysts may also be involved in data analysis to uncover insights that can drive business decisions.

9. Stakeholder Management: They work closely with stakeholders to identify their needs, address concerns, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

10. Continuous Improvement: Business analysts often participate in post-implementation reviews to assess the success of projects and identify areas for continuous improvement.

Additionally, we are looking at an energetic candidate who possesses strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. We look at our business analysts to be able to understand both the business and technical aspects of a project and effectively communicate with diverse teams.
