Business Data Analyst

Description: 
Assist business team in capturing business functional and technical requirements in agile methodology through detailed data driven decision making process.

Qualifications: 
Detailed knowledge/experience in business data analysis tasks, elicitation techniques and data requirements gathering skills.
Business data analyst must have proficient knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy or other business Intelligence tools. 
They must also demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V-lookups, Macros) and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of programming language such as SQL, PL/SQL, and Python
Experience of agile processes as well documenting requirements as User Stories in JIRA
Business data analysts must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Having analytical skills also help them define business needs and develop technical requirements, and also proffer solutions to business problems using data-driven insights
Have exceptional verbal communication skills to be able to explain technical concepts and procedures to non-technical users. It also enables them present their work and tailor the delivery to the capacity of the audience
Be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of data, so it is important that they pay deliberate attention to data input and output to ensure accuracy and validity
Responsible for facilitating requirements, drafting impact matrices, writing Functional Specifications, coordinating defects with the test/app dev team
Candidate must be able to work collaboratively with all stakeholders, executives and subject matter experts
The ability to work effectively in a fast paced, complex and deadline driven environment
The ability to create visualization solutions for presentation to and use by Senior Managers
3 - 5 years experience as Business or Data Analyst
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Data Analytics or related field required

Key Responsibilities: 
Identifying and prioritizing technical and functional requirements
Define and deliver metrics, reporting platforms, dashboards, and analytical models vital for tracking and managing the business
Identify business challenges and initiate process improvement projects
Facilitate the computerization of analytics and data collection processes
Provide analyses for large datasets necessary for decisions using actionable insights
Collaborate with various stakeholder to build scalable processes and metrics
Responsible for carrying out complex analysis of datasets and conduct appropriate data validation
Responsible for gathering and cleaning of datasets across multiple data sources
Responsible for spotting vital insights and developing the framework of the organizations data system
Provide information on analytic results to business and functional leaders using visualizations to communicate data and metrics, including data maps, leveraging Tableau, etc.
