Business Intelligence Engineer

Job Summary:

Our client has a full-time position for a Business Intelligence Engineer with a strong background in Microsoft SQL, Power BI, and data warehousing for enterprise level systems. The position's primary responsibility is to develop and enhance SSIS packages, work with Databricks and support the production environment. Secondary responsibilities will be developing new and enhancing existing Power BI reports and dashboards. The candidate must be comfortable working with end users and business analysts to capture and clarify requirements to deliver a solution that meets or exceeds user expectations. Advanced SQL skills and working in an Agile environment are a must for the successful candidate.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assume responsibility and takes initiative to achieve desired results.
Collaborate with end users and business analysts to gather and clarify requirements in order to deliver solutions that meet user expectations.
Design and implement technical solutions based on business requirements.
Develop complex stored procedures and SQL queries.
Support production reporting and SSIS applications.
Analyze and improve SQL performance.
Design, develop, and deploy Power BI solutions.

Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
5+ years’ experience writing complex SQL queries and developing SSIS packages for data migration and file delivery.
3+ years working in an Agile development environment.
5+ years designing and developing data solutions in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
1 year experience working with Azure Cloud Services including Azure DevOps pipelines.
1 year developing complex Power BI reports and dashboards.
Expertise in tuning queries and optimizing processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desire to learn new technologies and tools to expand existing skill set.

Preferred Experience:

History of working with financial data and loan processing
Azure Databricks is highly preferred.
