Job Title: System Business Analyst

Summary:

The Systems Business Analyst, Sr acts as a liaison between technical and business user groups. The individual is responsible for defining and documenting business systems requirements and ensuring technology solutions enhance and support the business operations. The individual also identifies technological alternatives and recommends system solutions to business and technical audiences.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

 

Business Analysis

Develop clear, concise project documentation, which requires proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, screen design, etc.

Facilitate the definition of functional requirements by working with systems partners and business users.

Translate and present project concepts into effective visual images which clarify design elements and issues for both business and technical audiences.

Translate system workflows into system configuration.

Recognize patterns in complex information and identify key issues.

Identify gaps between business requirements and existing or proposed design solutions.

Conduct business analysis to determine how changing business needs will affect the system or product; clearly articulate the business need and potential solutions with support of insightful analysis and documented evidence

 

Project Execution:

Review and assist in development of project and task plans, project workflows and resource assignments as requested by Project Manager.

Ensure methodology is followed for project; provide meaningful feedback in accordance with departmental standards and guidelines.

Maintain issue log; coordinate and support communications surrounding both systems and user acceptance for assigned project(s).

Identify, mediate, resolve and eliminate miscommunications between business and technical project team members.

Lead and/or participate in development of test strategy, test plans and test cases

Oversee and/or participate in test execution and document results

Assist in the development and execution of implementation plan

Document changes to workflows and procedures; conduct user training

 

 

Skills and Experience:

BA/BS degree and/or related work experience.

5+ years of experience performing analysis and producing technical documentation for systems projects/enhancements, preferably at a financial services company.

Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Full understanding of the business model or the area(s) supported; experience in Financial Services preferred.

Experience with FRDs

UAT, Testing Strategies, Text Execution, and management and reporting of rest results.

Jira or QTest experience

Data Movement experience highly preferred (RightFax, sFTP, FTP)

Bachelor's Degree
