Cassandra DBA

Are you a Database Administrator working in Cassandra? Have you worked with automation or always wanted to get into automation? Have you wanted to work in a collaborative environment with several relational, NoSQL and Big Data technologies? Have you worked in or wanted to work in a container environment like Kubernetes and be involved in a hybrid cloud environment? 

We are looking for an expert in Cassandra to guide our team in Cassandra as our team supports Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Clickhouse, Redis, Elastic and Cassandra. Our projects are designed around automation. Some of our favorites currently include PowerShell, Linux shell scripts and Python. We are embarking on a maturity into Ansible, AWX, and Terraform.

Responsibilities
Work with the application development teams to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
Advanced troubleshooting in coordination with other teams and 3rd parties, query / schema optimizations, fine tuning of back-end databases
Perform advanced system monitoring and preventive maintenance
Participate in on-call rotation
Database / Server ownership
Propose database and platform enhancements
Drive maturity through our IT Engineering environment through Infrastructure as Code
Turnover operations runbooks to our IT Operations teams

Skills Required
3+ years working with Cassandra
Experience in Kubernetes
Experience writing shell scripts and scripting languages
Experience with Ansible
Knowledge of Linux and/or Windows system administration
BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Good written and speaking knowledge of the English language

Skills Desired
Experience with PowerShell and Terraform
Experience with Helm
IaC and or CI/CD experience and related tools (Jenkins/Octopus, Gitlab/Bitbucket)
Knowledge and experience of the following: Clickhouse, Redis, Elastic
Knowledge of MySQL, Postgres and SQL Server
Knowledge of Oracle is considered
Knowledge of VMware
