Description

We are looking for a chemist to manage our materials catalogue and apply their chemistry expertise in a business setting.

About the Role

For over a decade, Ossila has been a major supplier of high-quality polymer and small molecule semiconducting materials to our customers worldwide. Until recently, our materials catalogue had been focused on the end-users, primarily physicists and engineers. We are now seeing increased demand for intermediates and building blocks from research chemists performing synthesis.

As a Chemical Products Manager, you will:

  • Be the first point of contact within the materials teams for customer queries.
  • Take responsibility for procuring and maintaining adequate stock levels for nearly 1000 materials, so that orders can be fulfilled quickly.
  • Manage the supply chain and work with suppliers to build on existing relationships.
  • Act as a bridge between our technical materials team and our professional customer support team.
  • Assist in product development to bring new materials to market.
  • Manage all relevant product procurement data.

As part of a small and fast-growing company, you will work both collaboratively and independently. When required, you will work under your own initiative and take responsibility to solve problems.

About You

  • You are highly motivated to advance your career in supporting chemical materials science and have a desire to make your work a commercial success.
  • You hold a master’s degree in chemistry or materials science. A bachelor’s degree will be considered if you have significant working experience in a relevant chemical business.
  • You can demonstrate knowledge in chemical identity and purity assessment.
  • You approach your work in a highly organised and self-motivated way, with excellent prioritisation and time management skills.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • You have good IT skills.
  • You can learn and solve problems in both business and chemistry.
  • You are adaptable and resourceful.
  • You enjoy being part of a team and foster a collaborative environment through effective communication.
  • You are keen to continue your personal learning and development.
