Job Summary

ITServe Alliance is experiencing rapid growth and seeks a visionary Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide strategic leadership and management, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the organization. The COO will work closely with the executive leadership team, volunteer CEOs, and paid employees to drive our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operational Leadership: Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of ITServe Alliance, ensuring efficient utilization of resources, budget management, and performance optimization.
  2. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team, CEO, and Board of Directors to develop and implement organizational strategies, goals, and objectives, aligning them with the mission and vision of ITServe. Drive the organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs.
  3. Member Engagement: Foster strong relationships with members, understanding their needs and priorities, and implementing initiatives that deliver value to the membership.
  4. Policy Advocacy: Develop and execute advocacy strategies to protect and promote member interests through engagement with government agencies, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
  5. Financial Management: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring sound financial practices and compliance with relevant regulations.
  6. Team Management: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of professionals, creating a positive and collaborative work environment.
  7. Community Outreach: Expand and enhance ITServe's CSR initiatives, focusing on community development and support.
  8. Board and Member Relations: Facilitate communication and collaboration between the board of directors, chapter leaders, and members, ensuring transparency and effective governance.
  9. Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, and partners.
  10. Sponsorship and Funding: Identify, engage, and secure sponsorships and funding opportunities to support ITServe's programs, events, and initiatives. Cultivate relationships with existing and potential sponsors.
  11. Speaker Engagement: Recruit high-caliber speakers for monthly meetings, webinars, and other ITServe events, ensuring content is relevant, engaging, and beneficial for members.
  12. Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining the integrity and ethical standards of the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer or in a similar leadership role.
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations, associations, or member-driven entities is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Exceptional strategic planning and execution abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success in team leadership and management.
  • Knowledge of IT and technology industry trends is a plus.
