Position description:

  • The Client Technologies Technician manages desktops, laptops, and tablets in active directory, building desktops, laptops, and tablets using Microsoft desktop deployment toolkit. Confirming the installation is successful by ensuring BitLocker key is stored in active directory, system center client is installed and laptop, tablet, and workstation stays on the NTS network 2.5 hours after build completes.
  • Assist with deployment of built devices in headquarters building.
  • Applicant will be required to be onsite for 40 hours a week within the agency headquarters building to provide it support for it services desktop support staff

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Requires the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • Prior government experience required.
  • Build desktops, laptops, and tablets, using Microsoft desktop deployment toolkit.
  • Ensure the BitLocker encryption key is successfully stored in active directory.
  • Ensure the Microsoft system center client is installed on each laptop, tablet, and workstation during the build process.
  • Ensure each laptop, tablet, and workstation stays connected to the NTS network for at least 2.5 hours after build completes.
  • Ensure that all software listed on the build sheet is installed on each desktop, laptop, and tablet built.
  • Ensure that each desktop, laptop, tablet, and/or 27” monitor is properly documented in am cloud, active directory, and the DrakeWell spreadsheet for labels in accordance with the pc support DrakeWell-IAM procedure manual.
  • Diagnoses and resolves problems reported by users on pc Hardware/F/Software. Record work preformed in help desk system.
  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs on equipment or send equipment to vendor for repair.
  • Assists with removal and disposal of obsolete equipment and other components, salvaging any usable parts.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot computer and network problems
  • Proficiency configuring and troubleshooting Windows operating systems in a client/server environment

Required education/equivalencies:

  • A high school diploma and experience in computer deployments, installation, operation, repair, or related systems.
  • OR An associate degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
