SUMMARY

The Senior Architect will report into the Manager, Application Systems Engineering and will be responsible for supporting the modernization and consolidation of our IT infrastructure to automate workloads and pursue next-generation innovation. The Senior Platform Engineer will leverage their experience and expertise to develop the strategy, design, and implementation of CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications, as well as large-scale projects hosted in either AWS or Azure. The Senior Platform Engineer will collaborate with multiple teams in IT to improve our operations and the performance, security, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure.

 

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES – what you will be doing (top five):

  • Work collaboratively with our engineering teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for US Health care Client. • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions that meet our business requirements and align with our IT strategy.
  • Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale while maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design.
  • Guide and coach, the more junior engineers on the team as they grow in their skills and gain experience within the Cloud Engineering space.
  • Provide technical leadership in the deployment and operational management of cloud solutions.
  • Design and maintain the Cloud provisioning templates required for building and managing our Cloud platforms while adhering to our US Health care Client, Compliance, and Performance standards and policies.
  • Design and maintain the CI/CD pipelines for building and managing our cloud-native applications while adhering to our US Health care Client Security, Compliance, and Performance standards and policies.
  • Design, build, and deploy Cloud applications, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics.
  • Participate in all aspects of the SDLC for Cloud solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary.
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.
  • Develop and maintain supporting documentation for all automated processes.
  • Work closely with Prod and Non-Prod environment owners to develop and maintain a role-based workflow that supports segregated duties.
  • Coordinate and lead training and information sharing meetings with the rest of the Cloud Engineering team.
  • Oversee and support Production deployments during major release activities for components owned by the Cloud Engineering team.
  • Serve as SME (subject matter expert) in several committees pertaining to Cloud Governance and Architecture.

EXPERIENCE (minimum years required):

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Cloud Engineering or DevOps role with knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large projects or small teams
  • Technical experience with the following: OS Level Administration (Linux, Windows), IaC Provisioning Tools (Terraform, ARM, Ansible, CloudFormation), Software development lifecycle principles, Build Orchestration Tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
    • Preferred experience with deployment Tools (CD/RO, Ansible, Azure DevOps, etc.) and Source Control Management (GitHub, SVN, BitBucket, etc.)
    • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript.
    • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
    • Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD tools like CloudBees/Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub Actions.
