Position Summary:
- A Cloud DBA role responsible for multiple Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL databases across development, test and production environments in AWS and Azure, representing the back-end of the mission critical in-house enterprise application Scribe.
- Some of the primary responsibilities include owning, tracking, and resolving database related incidents, physical and logical database design, creating and maintaining source code changes and fulfilling data requests.
- The position activities necessitate constant communication with peer DBAs, developers, and business analysts throughout the software development cycle.
Job Responsibilities:
- Senior Applications DBA to support migration of Oracle database effort from on-prem to AWS cloud and design/development of various applications for client in AWS Cloud.
- Strong experience in handling AWS cloud EC2, RDS, CloudWatch and S3 buckets.
- Strong experience in migration of Oracle database effort from on-prem to AWS cloud.
- Hands on large data migration experience from on-prem to AWS cloud..
- Good understanding on Relational and Non-SQL databases – Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Managing the application schema, design, and extensions within the database for development, test, and production environments for a very large Oracle database on the Linux platform.
- Database technical support, performance tuning, application administration and consulting, and providing support for Oracle, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN and Oracle Golden Gate.
- Solve database and SQL performance issues and help in tuning Oracle as well as SQL.
- Experience in configuring, monitoring, and Cache management for Oracle database servers.
- Working with developers to identify and refine data requirements, database design, database migration planning, and configuration, performing backup and recovery, monitoring database performance.
- Reorganizing database structures as needed, and creation and modification of test and production data, base schemas.
- Provide technical leadership in data archiving, data extract (full copy or subset) from the production region to the non-production region, and data masking/de-identification of the extract data.
- experience working with MySQL and PostgreSQL and replication in a multi data-center environment with disaster recovery.
- Good Analytical, Technical, Time Management and Communication. Participate in on-call rotation and weekend work.
- Development experience such as Linux shell scripting, Perl, Python, YAML or any other.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting the enterprise scheduling system (ActiveBatch).
- Deploying J2EE applications in Oracle Application Server, Tomcat, JBoss and SVN(Subversion).
- Working knowledge of ITIL Process (Incident/Change/Service Request Management).
- Experience in DevOps/Descopes practices to enable continuous integration and deployment of the data solution.
