Cloud Lead Engineer

Under the direction of the Cloud Security Manager, this role will own the technical delivery of the service side architecture, design, build, monitoring, and optimal performance and security of AWS public cloud infrastructure systems, tools and processes while acting as primary IT contact for those technologies.

Embrace the vision to lead the transformation of currently leveraged outsourced application development model to an in-house model to include development of key business and customer facing solutions

Serve as the strategist who researches public and private Cloud technologies and frameworks, and creates reference architecture and implementations for the Cloud Automation engineers to follow

Completely own the technical delivery of the automated provisioning of cloud and cloud native application infrastructure stack using GitOps and Kubernetes Operators.

Serve as the implementation partner and advisor to the Product Owner of the Enterprise Cloud Provisioning Stack

Lead the Cloud Engineering and DevOps teams to define/author infrastructure and deployment requirements; recommend, challenge, and validate Cloud services to meet new application/product needs

Work with the Cloud Architect to author clear and specific requirements, detailed design, conduct code reviews and approve pull requests for Automation implementations and mentor the team on cloud automation best practices

Responsible for compliance to ensure privacy, security of data/information on cloud platform/applications

Servant leader for the team, clearing their obstacles, study how to make every team member successful and stay ahead of the team to avoid unpleasant surprises for the team thus actively ensuring delivery within the schedule and allocated budget

Lead and play a leadership role in sprint planning meetings to ensure that the team understands their objectives and has committed to completing their work on an agreed-upon timeline

Own the development environment, development tooling strategy and toolchains for effective and efficient delivery of software in support of the chosen methodologies

Build a culture of engineering excellence with a focus on performance, scalability, privacy, and security

Define, create, and serve as the custodian of the Cloud Automation and DevOps implementation Strategy

Ability to collaborate and hold the various development team members accountable for compliance to the Enterprise Technical Standards and Guidelines

Qualifications

6 years of relevant professional work experience engineering enterprise infrastructure utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS) offerings, development, and networking platforms.

4 years minimum experience Administering Unix Operating systems, Ubuntu Highly Preferred.

2 years minimum experience developing Infrastructure as Code, TerraForm or AWS Cloud Formation. TerraForm Highly Preferred.

Hands-on experience with designing, building, and supporting micro services infrastructures in a hybrid cloud environment.

Service oriented leader who possesses a true 24 7 support and service mentality.

Experience leading development team, building roadmaps, and adopting principles and standards in the design, development, and delivery of solutions.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred or equivalent education/experience.

AWS Solution Architect Associate or Professional certification
