Job Summary: Cloud Ops Team Lead
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud L3 Operations Team Lead to join our IT department. As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of Level 2 Cloud Operations Engineers who specialize in managing and resolving complex cloud infrastructure incidents and problems. You will collaborate with other technical teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the highest level of reliability, performance, and security for our cloud services. Your expertise and leadership will be vital in driving continuous improvement and providing top-notch support to our cloud-based systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the Cloud L3 Operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Set clear goals, establish performance metrics, and provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Promote professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Oversee the resolution of complex cloud infrastructure incidents and problems escalated from L1 and L2 teams.
  • Work closely with other IT teams to ensure incidents are resolved within agreed SLAs.
  • Conduct detailed root cause analysis for major incidents and implement preventive measures.
  • Monitor the health and performance of cloud resources and services, proactively identifying potential issues.
  • Optimize cloud resource utilization, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain automated monitoring and alerting solutions.
  • Collaborate with the security team to ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.
  • Participate in security audits and implement necessary improvements.
  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of cloud-related changes, following established change management processes.
  • Ensure changes are properly documented and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for critical cloud services.
  • Perform regular testing of disaster recovery procedures to ensure readiness.
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline cloud operations and reduce manual efforts.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Engage with cloud service providers and vendors to address technical issues and escalations.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service level agreements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Operations Engineer or similar role, with a focus on Level 3 support.
  • Previous experience in leading or managing an L2/L3 operations team is essential.
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Thorough understanding of cloud security, compliance, and best practices.
  • Experience in incident and problem management in a cloud-based environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Any Graduate
