Cobol Ingenium Developer

About the job

• Identification and analysis of (COBOL based) Ingenium PAS System issues.
• Develops using COBOL on z/OS using TSO, CICS, and JCL applying solutions across varying platforms.
• Leads other technical resources in development / implementation of complex technical solutions.
• Designs, configures, develops, integrates, tests and deploys technology solutions to meet business requirements.
• Consults / collaborates and communicates with the business to ensure clarification of business requirements.
• Initiates, implements and optimizes processes for effectiveness & productivity.
• Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality in accordance with the expectations established by your supervisor and WoodmenLife policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

This job requires a background that demonstrates the following minimum knowledge, skills, talents and traits:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
• Demonstrated ability to work with varying technical tools required to fulfill responsibilities.
• Must be self-motivated and results oriented.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills with both IT and business audiences.
• Ability to iteratively and incrementally improve both products and processes; ability to analyze and resolve performance issues in all environments.
• Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.
• Proficient working with Microsoft SQL Server and/or DB2, understanding database design and basic database administration functions.
• Ability to analyze business requirements, processes, data, and system integration points to determine/recommend appropriate technology solutions.
• Knowledge of architectural patterns and practices.
• Ability to engage well with others and be passionate about providing an exemplary customer experience.
• Ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service.

Desired Qualifications

• Highly preferred is experience working with Ingenium on z/OS
• Experience working in the insurance industry experience preferred
• IBM z/OS operating environment, TSO, CICS, COBOL, JCL, and VSAM.
