Includes understanding of: Programmable Logic Controllers, Ladder Logic, and Human-Machine Interfaces. Communication networks and protocols used on the shop floor. Control systems including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical sources of energy. Sensors, actuators, and various loop control technologies. Motion control, servo systems, and multi-axis control including robotics Specialist.
- Can lead controls installation projects.
- Proficient at programming logic controllers and interface devices. Can specify and design significant upgrades to existing equipment. Can expand and setup new communications networks. Understands the interface of the shop floor control system to the Manufacturing Execution System
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Technologies - Involves understanding and being able to use factory floor Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) technologies. Can design and implement new Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) solutions. Can specify equipment and materials for a project. Able to help with installation, startup, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance and operation.
- Factory Automation and Control Systems - Understanding of the closed loop control of factory automation systems. Can design and implement new loop and motion control solutions. Can specify equipment and materials for a project. Able to help with installation, startup, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance and operation
