Cyber Policy and Guidance Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Policy and Guidance Analyst to join our team. The selected candidate will provide critical support to the Cyber Workforce Development (CWD) Director in developing and implementing policy and guidance regarding the development, acquisition, systems security engineering, and resilience of key cyber terrain. This role involves engaging and coordinating with heads of DoD components and agencies, assigning roles and responsibilities, integrating and tracking activities to completion, and providing updates and status reports.

Key Responsibilities:-

Policy and Guidance Development: Assist the CWD in developing and implementing policy and guidance Key Responsibilities:-

regarding the development, acquisition, systems security engineering, and resilience of key cyber terrain.

Engagement and Coordination: Engage and coordinate with heads of DoD components and agencies as directed by the CWD Director.

Activity Integration and Tracking: Assign roles and responsibilities, integrate and track activities to completion, and provide updates and status reports as directed by the CWD Director in written, verbal, and briefing form.

Integration Support: Provide integration support across the cyber domain and investment portfolio through critical path and mission analyses.

Technical and Analytic Support: Provide technical and analytic support to perform assessments of mission platforms, weapons systems, mission platforms, Defense Critical Infrastructure, and the Defense Industrial Base.

Policy Development: Provide analytic support related to the current cyber acquisition environment and capability development. Develop policy and identify/recommend policy improvements related to cyber capability development, resiliency, and acquisition.

Compliance and Assessment: Support enforcement and assessment of compliance with DoD guidance, mandates, and standards. Analyze and identify opportunities for technical and non-technical solutions.

Position Development: Develop positions and courses of action impacting cyberspace operations across the Department. Review and evaluate approved plans and programs to incorporate into policy and guidance.

Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships within the DoD cyber community to enhance the strategic objectives of Cyber Acquisition.

Governance Support: Attend and support DoD governance councils, working group meetings, conferences, and events. Assist the CWD in representing cyber acquisition equities.

Trend Awareness: Inform appropriate organizations and personnel of new and significant cyber trends.

Reporting: Provide status updates, reports, and briefings related to the common framework for acquiring cyberspace operations capabilities.

Product Staffing: Formally staff policy, guidance, and other products as directed by the CWD Director. Adjudicate comments leveraging established relationships.

Executive Messaging: Prepare and package executive/principal level decisions to message CWD policy positions.

Required Skills:-

  • Conduct of Program Protection Plan Analysis
  • Development of Cybersecurity Handbooks /Guidance
  • Preparing policy, point papers, technical reviews, guidance, white papers, congressional inquiries,a nd other documents for senior- level officials
  • Coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels across the Department of Defense
  • Basic knowledge of relationships and interdependencies between IT, cyberspace operations, and cybersecurity
  • Understand operational and functional requirements of Weapons Systems and Industrial Control Systems (CS) to support the Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework process
