Cyber Security Engineer

Join our client's Washington, D.C. team as a Cyber Security Engineer, where your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the security of network design, system integration, and application development projects. As a subject matter expert, you will guide project teams to adhere to company and IT security policies, standards, and governmental guidelines. Bring your coding and scripting skills, including Python, PowerShell, Bash, R, to automate operations and contribute to IAM concepts, API security, and DevOps principles.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a subject matter expert, guiding project teams in aligning with security policies, standards, and industry best practices.
• Utilize coding and scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash, R) to automate operations and reduce human interaction.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of IAM concepts, including RBAC, least privilege, access automation methods, and cloud access concepts.
• Work on API security and integration with public cloud APIs, implementing DevOps principles, and effectively managing code repositories.
• Provide detailed follow-up reports for Root Cause analysis, engineering technical assessments, and process improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of SIEM platforms and enhance the overall detection program in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Apply expertise in container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform) to strengthen security measures.
