Description

Job Responsibilities:

Plan, install and manage SQL databases

Develop database patching strategy

Review/Create SQL procedures, Perform SQL reviews and participate in Application tuning efforts.

Maintain databases as required, rebuild indexes, update statistics and re-organize data

Respond to requests to identify database issues and resolve issues with database versions and patches

Create logical and physical data models

Provide consulting to client and IT management and staff at the highest technical level in the identification and resolution of information flow, content issues and the transformation of business requirements into relational data base definition.

Develop error-detection and add to monitoring systems

Automate anything in sight

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field of study.

6+ years of professional work experience

Experience in Database Administration (DBA)

Experience with Oracle/Microsoft database systems

Experience with SQL Server

Experience with database design, database upgrade, database migration and implementation

Experience with database performance tuning and disaster recovery

Strong written, interpersonal and communication skill

Experience in UNIX/LINUX and Windows environments.
