Job Description 

Key Responsibilities

·        Transforming business requirements into designs for the data warehouse

·        Data Modelling with Data Vault 2.0 methodology

·        Working with Snowflake to implement the Data Vault 2.0 models

·        Providing Quality Assurance and guidance for Data Engineers’ work on Snowflake

·        Liaising with our existing Data Architect to ensure conformance with existing designs

·        Working with dbt Core to produce data transformation processes

Required Experience and Skills

·        Experienced in Data Vault 2.0 modelling and implementation

·        Experienced in Snowflake

·        Experienced working in agile scrum methodology

·        Desirable: Experience with db2 zOS mainframe

System Goals and Objectives

·        Provide a scalable, reliable, and highly secure data warehouse solution for group data.

·        Replace GMD Db2 LUW with Snowflake

·        Transfer reports from Db2 to Snowflake

·        Scalable - handle more users, larger volumes of data - without the complexity and cost of additional hardware and clustering

·        Managed Solution - simplifies database administration effort - automated backups

·        Increased Resiliency - Multi Availability Zone (AZ) data replication

·        Increased Security - Data encryption at rest, and Bring Your Own Key

·        Sanitised RBAC security model

·        Single Sign On - Azure AD integration with Snowflake, including SSO and Account Lifecycle Management

·        Potential for streamed data loading as well as batch

·        Provide users with the ability to create business intelligence and analytics reports in a secure, reliable, ANSI-SQL compatible environment
