Job Title: Enterprise Data Architect

Location: Lansing, MI

Duration: 12 Months

Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense. Position will be ON-SITE with hybrid model (2 days a week) to start.

Experience

•             A minimum of seven years of experience in IT and enterprise data architecture and at least four years in information system design.

•             In-depth experience of designing and implementing information solutions.

•             Hands-on experience implementing data and analytics management programs is preferred.

•             Five years' experience as a data analyst is highly desirable.

Skillsets Required:

•             Effective conceptualization, pattern recognition and teaming skills.

•             Business acumen, and the ability to communicate with executives, business domain stakeholders and technical staff alike, communicating technical terminology at a level appropriate to the audience.

•             Demonstrated influence, communication, presentation and facilitation skills. 

•             Effective team member, participating in meetings related to the data architecture, data migration, data flow diagrams, and data integration needs for both up- and down-stream systems

•             Experience with innovation and ideation methods, such as design thinking.

•             Experience with ESRI, GIS software, geodatabase management application.

•             Business domain, data/content and process understanding.

•             System integration experience, including interface design, and familiarity with web-oriented architecture techniques.

•             Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models.

Understanding of metamodels, taxonomies and ontologies, as well as of the challenges of applying structured techniques (data modeling) to less-structured sources.

Familiarity with data science concepts, as well as MDM, business intelligence, and data warehouse design and implementation techniques.

Experience with distributed management and analytics in cloud and hybrid environments. Also, an understanding of a variety of data access and analytic approaches (for example, microservices and event-based architectures).

•             Ability to assess rapidly changing technologies and apply them to business needs.

Strong communication and persuasion skills, including the ability to create presentations and messaging materials that meet stakeholder needs.

Ability to analyze project, program and portfolio data needs, as well as determine the resources needed to achieve objectives and overcome cross-functional barriers.

•             Is a confident, energetic self-starter, with strong interpersonal skills.

•             Has good judgment, a sense of urgency and has demonstrated commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity.              

Effective with providing well thought out solutions, with clear written and spoken communication, to ensure a common understanding of AS-IS and TO-BE states

•             Knowledge and proven skills in data modeling at an enterprise level along with the use of data modeling tools

•             Knowledge and proven skills in MS SQL Server and/or Oracle SQL

•             Ability to prepare detailed written instructions and documentation
