Description

Maintaining the DCIM tools that are utilized for data center space, power and connectivity planning as well as monitoring various activities. The DCIM engineer must continuously maintain an up-to-date inventory of equipment, peripherals, and connectivity (power and data) in the DCIM tool(s) by proactively coordinating with the implementation and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Work with development team to remediate issues and feature enhancements.
Validate the values in reports and charts by using SQL to extract data from the database and compare it to values presented in Grafana or equivalent web dashboards. 
Work with Global Data Center teams and asset management teams to ensure the DCIM tool(s) accurately reflects the installed data center equipment and will work with the site facilities teams to verify the accuracy of the underlying power/cooling infrastructure. 
Monitor power and cooling based on available equipment and options in each data center. 
Responsive for Administrative duties specific to the DCIM product/suite which may include license management, reporting via SQL, access management, supporting version upgrades which will require collaboration across internal application support teams and Database Administrators.
Create infrastructure diagrams, records, documentation.
Creates SOPs for operations/migrations activities.

Requirements/Qualifications

2+ years of experience in working with Enterprise Grafana
Previous experience validating data presented in reports and charts. 
3+ years of experience writing queries against PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with basic Python scripting.

Excels when working as part of a small, agile, product-focused team.
Ability to balance tasks and work on multiple tasks concurrently.
Demonstrated experience in managing complex customer issues.
Excellent customer-facing project management, analysis, troubleshooting, and technical skills
Demonstrated basic technical knowledge of:
Data center IT components and interconnections (servers, Blades/Blade Chassis, network switches, RACK PDUs, etc.)
Data center networks and protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, SNMP, Modbus)
Structured cabling components and concepts (patch panels, fiber, copper)
Data center facilities components (UPS, PDUs, single and 3 Phase Power)
MS Excel xls/csv file creation
Editing and working with AutoCAD and Visio drawings
Accountability and the ability to adapt/multi-task/manage changing priorities.
Self-motivated, ability to learn and apply new skills quickly.
Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills required.
Experience with managing PowerIQ/Dctrack or equivalent DCIM solutions.
