Data Center Technician

Location: Daytona Beach, Fl – onsite 5 days a week

Client: FPL

Rate: 28.25/hr. on W2

Start: Immediate

Status: Must be USC

Term: 12 months term

 

 

Must have Data Center Floor experience / exposure.

 

 

Data Center Technician(s) perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for FPL's Corporate data centers (CIP & Non-CIP) and Grid Control Systems. Perform all required tasks being the "hands and eyes" for remote technicians within the data center. Execute physical activities as defined on the data center floor.

 

Setup data center hardware, software for system enhancements. Work to ensure data center systems and equipment are compliant as per FPL standards

Debug failure and process service requests within defined SLA's as well as manage ticket queues and adhere to change management processes for data center services

Support business continuation planning and disaster recovery backup solutions; including being utilized as a storm rider when needed

Facilitate data center equipment upgrades and assist with acquisition and inventory of data center supplies and equipment

Perform new cable installations, hardware rack / stack installations and decommissions, testing, and troubleshooting using standard data center processes

Perform equipment power cycles, swap out failed components with new and, handle storage media

Perform installation and/or removal of hardware in data center white floor areas including server cabinets, cabinet hardware, servers, and other hardware appliances

Supporting deployment of on-site DC physical infrastructure including Servers, Network Devices, SANS, Main Frames

Supporting parts/component replacement and physical hardware troubleshooting

Support for shipping/receiving and consumables inventory management to address work volumes

Advise on parts/component replacement and physical hardware troubleshooting

Develop new SOP's, document guidelines, standards, and procedure documentation

Maintain Data Center Inventory and support asset management team with maintaining the CMDB accurate

Comply with NERC CIP, SOX and all other regulatory requirements processes and reporting

Ensure resources maintain NERC/CIP clearance and requirements and training
