Description

Responsible for leveraging data and coding skills to uncover insights that help our client base (i.e., financial institutions, Fintech, etc.) better understand and predict consumer behavior. This role will involve analyzing large datasets of consumer data, using Python to build models and algorithms that identify patterns and correlations, and then translating those findings into actionable businessrecommendations.

Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets of consumer credit report information
Use Python programming to develop custom scripts, models, and algorithms to identify relationships between credit report data and negative consumer behaviors like loan defaults or failure to repay credit card balances
Perform statistical analysis to quantify the strength of correlations and assess their significance
Build interactive data visualizations to effectively communicate analysis findings to business stakeholders
Document analytical methodologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven strategies
Stay up-to-date on the latest data science techniques and tools to continuously improve the agency's predictive capabilities
 

What your background looks like

 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related quantitative field
3+ years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, and software development using Python
Strong proficiency in Python programming, including libraries like NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Scikit-learn
Familiarity with consumer credit reporting data and the factors that impact creditworthiness
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a quantitative discipline
Experience with SQL, Spark, or other big data technologies
Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their business applications
Understanding of consumer finance regulations and industry best practices
