Role: Data Modeler
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Duration: 12+ Months


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Five years of experience in data modeling, data management, data transformation, metadata and reference data management, and business intelligence tools in medium to large complex environments.
Five years of experience with advanced SQL server technologies (SQL Server 2008 and above).
Five years of experience developing Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and On-Line Analysis Processing (OLAP) databases.
Five years of experience with data warehousing / business intelligence technologies.
Five years of experience with Integration Services, Analysis Services, and Reporting Services.
Five years of experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) support tools and techniques.
Five years of experience working with Dimensional Modeling techniques and practices (data cubes, star schema, snowflake schema).
Two years of experience developing using XML, HL7, Schematron, JSON, and XPath.
Two years of experience using medical data standards (ICD10/SNOMED/RxNorm).
Two years of experience developing reports using SAS/SPSS.
Two years of experience with state government change management and security standards


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate requirements analysis and data modeling sessions monthly as directed by the Department
Document and submit requirements analysis for linking critical data sets and improved data access, query and reporting functionality monthly or as directed by the Department.
Design, create, and submit logical and physical data models monthly or as directed by the Department.
Create and submit entity relationship diagrams and metadata for each data model monthly or as directed by the Department.
Design and submit extract/transform/load (ETL) processes as directed by the Department.
Create, modify, and submit ETL processes as directed by the Department.
Develop and submit physical dimensional models for data cubes as directed by the Department.
Perform testing and validation cycles on databases, ETLs, and data cubes as directed by the Department.
Design and develop reports, dashboards and Ad-hoc reports as directed by the Department.
Perform technical and procedural support for end users as directed by the Department.
Produce and submit status reports on tasks weekly or as directed by the Department.
Produce and submit detailed accounting of hours worked by tasks performed weekly.
Follow Department Information Technology (IT) processes and coordinate with other Department IT staff to ensure compliance with Department standards performed daily as directed by the Department.
Communicate (verbally and in written formats) with project teams and internal and external stakeholders regarding project activities, deliverables, and status as directed by the Department
