Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

-              The objective of the Data Quality Engineer is to investigate quality issues within the Telematics end-to-end system for further quality review. This position will be assisting in the validation of quality rules, investigating data failures, and work with the team to communicate the findings. This could include internal validation of data from rule failures and derived data objects.

 

Typical Day in the Role

Typical task breakdown:

- Analyze Telemetry data.

- Quality Investigations for new issues to determine the severity and affected population.

- Investigations include process flow work to determine where a piece of data is not being recorded or sent properly in the flow of data from a Product Link Device to the end customer.

- Develop SQL queries to make data sets with defined criteria.

- Designing validation test cases.

- Communicate results to internal customers, team members, and other business units.

- Follow work group process flow.

- Candidates need to be local to Peoria for Hybrid model

               

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience Required:

-              Two- or Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, computer science or other technology related field plus 5+ years’ experience.

 

Technical Skills

(Required)

-              1-2 years Telematics experience.

-              Previous experience with OEM Products, and OEM Telematics Products

-              Analytical skills to interpret data.

-              1-2 years SQL query experience (R)

-              1-2 years’ Experience with BI tools (Tableau preferred otherwise Power BI)

-              Knowledge of Machines/Engines

 

(Desired)

-              Knowledge of other functions that regularly provide inputs into telematics quality programs such as, product development, engineering, quality, purchase, and operations

 

Soft Skills

(Required)

-              Potential backgrounds in retail, or related service industry

o This role, for a mature team member, will communicate regularly with internal groups. The ability to effectively communicate with this group of people is critically important to the role.

- Team Player:

o Background in any role that caused them to be a member of a team that could not succeed unless everyone was involved

o These investigations and problem-solving roles require a broad range of individuals. The ability to build relationships with the team and work well with them is very important. Individuals who prefer to work alone, or hoard information would not thrive here.
