Data Scientist

Technical skills:

• Python is a must have. Data snapshot and analysis of the data in order to pull reports and to look for people in counties that may be ready for prosecutor to manipulate the data.
• Excel will be good
• Monday.com is nice to have

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong background in Python, with demonstrated experience in and understanding of data cleaning, management, and manipulation and implementing best practices in efficient & generalizable programming
• Experience with class-based and object-oriented programming, lambda functions, Python libraries such as Pandas and Numpy
• Experience with Tableau or similar data dashboard platforms, with demonstrated experience in and understanding of data visualization and presentation.
• Understanding of data infrastructure & pipelines
• Interest in criminal justice policy, social justice, and righting historical wrongs that resulted in excessive sentencing and mass incarceration
• Ability to communicate complex and/or technical work to non-technical audiences
• Is a team player and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude focused on identifying solutions
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to manage projects in a remote environment and ensure the completion of projects on schedule
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage tasks independently
• Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude focused on identifying solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple assignments at once with ability to prioritize.

Education and Experience

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university.
• Experience working with data and developing metrics, statistics, and visualizations.
• Experience with data management is preferred but not required.
