Roles and Responsibility involves -
a. Install, upgrade, and manage MS SQL Server Databases 2008R, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2019.
b. Configure Database Cluster, High Availability, Replication, Log shipping and DR.
c. Database Tuning: Performance Monitoring, Capacity Planning
d. Manage database access, Security Authentication
e. Create Maintenance Plans: Database Backup and Recovery
f. SQL Query Optimizations, Create Indexes, Reindexing
g. Create automation for repeating database tasks. Create SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) tasks.
h. Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors e.g. Slow running queries, Deadlock, Replication failure etc.
i. Specialized Data Handling, Data Extraction,
j. Transformation, and Loading
k. Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
l. Map out the conceptual design for a planned database, storage, access etc.
m. Install and test new versions of the databases, features etc.
n. Control access permissions and privileges
o. Set and maintain database standards. Create database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
p. Work closely with IT project managers, programmers, and other team members
q. Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of database.
r. Troubleshoot database issues and coordinate with development teams
s. To diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, error and data inconsistencies in SQL Server.
