Database Administrator

Job Description:

• Initiative, good judgment, and ability to achieve results through others.
• Success in developing and implementing new technology and work processes.
• Good knowledge and understanding of server-side development issues surrounding triggers, stored procedures, and packages.
• Ability to monitor and tune the database.
• Experience in the design of data extract, migration and queuing facilities.
• Knowledge of SQL, including programming and ways to optimize SQL code.
• Experience in logical and physical database design, techniques, and development methodology, and also physical schema design of tablespaces, rollback segments and data files.
• Working knowledge of database concepts, deployment, recovery techniques, performance monitoring and tuning, SQL, and relational database design techniques.
• Experience in one or more RDBMS-specific middleware tools and utilities to support such activities such as monitoring, database migration, DDL management, and replication.
• Knowledge in the concepts of database normalization techniques is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required Experience:

• 3+ years of overall experience developing and managing SQL/Oracle databases.
• Strong Fundamental knowledge and deep understanding of relational databases and data concepts.
• Strong Database Design (Relational & Dimensional), Development, & Optimization skills in MS SQL Server (2012 and higher)
• Experience with the Performance & Tuning of databases is required.
• Experience migrating or upgrading databases from one version to another is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or Related Field (or equivalent expertise)
